A European Commission call for tender has confirmed a European University Institute-headed consortium as lead of the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO). In the next 30 months, EDMO will intensify its efforts against the rising challenges of online disinformation, including the war in Ukraine.

As a new member of EDMO, ASCoR will strengthen EDMO with its high-level expertise on disinformation across media and its long-standing tradition in media and communication research. In all four program groups, ASCoR researchers focus on the causes, content and consequences of disinformation on social issues across different media. In that way, joing EDMO as a new member fits well with ASCoR's current research priorities and future ambitions.
