Liza Keessen is a PhD candidate in the program group Youth & Media Entertainment at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research, University of Amsterdam (ASCoR). Her PhD project focusses on how emerging adults can experience optimum solitude in today’s hyperconnected world.
Before starting her PhD, Liza studied Communication Science (BSc, University of Amsterdam) and Psychology (MSc Research, University of Amsterdam).
The Digital Transformation of Me-Time (PhD project “DIGI-ME”): Project DIGI-ME explores how digital technology can either support or undermine emerging adults’ need for solitude. Supervision: Prof. Jessica T. Piotrowski, Dr. Sindy Sumter, and Dr. Annemarie van Oosten.
