    Elske van den Hoogen is a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer in Political Communication at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR). Her research interests include public opinion on the EU, information and knowledge effects, misinformation, and mixed-method research. She obtained her PhD in cultural sociology from the Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2024, where she explored Dutch citizens’ understandings of the EU. 

    Besides teaching in the bachelor and master programmes, she is currently involved in a project researching citizens’ perceptions of misinformation surrounding the European Parliament elections, and the perceived consequences thereof.
