Gert-Jan de Bruijn is part of two large consortia that have received funding from EU and NWO National Wetenschapsagenda.
For H2020, Gert-Jan de Bruijn will - together with Jos Bosch from Psychology - coordinate a project from Digital Transformation in Health and Care. In this project, AI tools will be developed, implemented and evaluated in order to facilitate in-time prediction of cardiac risks and complications and support patients with lifestyle advice and virtual coaching. The H2020 grant awards two PhD candidates and a post-doc position and is a collaboration between companies and medical hospitals in the Netherlands, Germany, Greece, and Spain.
For NWA, Gert-Jan will lead a WP that aims to understand not only how early awareness of emergent diseases can be enhanced but also how technological tools and solutions for these emergent diseases can be better implemented in society and healthcare institutions. The NWA grant focuses on anti-microbial resistance - a key emergent public health issue - and is a collaboration between key stakeholders and academic institutes in the Netherlands. The project itself is coordinated by Maastricht University and the NWA WP will employ three PhD candidates and a post-doc position.
