Intercultural communication in healthcare: pitfalls and innovative solutions
The Amsterdam Center for Health Communication (ACHC) is organizing her sixth symposium where a mix of speakers from practice and science will reflect on the challenges, pitfalls and solutions in the area of intercultural communication in health care.
Questions and possible solutions that are raised in the symposium include how to bridge the language barrier between migrant patients and health care providers and how innovative solutions can contribute to better health care for patients with a different cultural and/or ethnic origin than their care providers.
The symposium has nine different speakers from the Netherlands and Belgium, and will be started by a keynote by Professor Maria van den Muijsenbergh. The chair of the symposium is Dr. Barbara Schouten.
The official language of the symposium is Dutch. The symposium is made financially possible by NeFCA and Digicomlab.
